Omnus was formed in 2019 when composer and pianist Ola Moum reached out to the guitarist Christian Foldal with a collaboration proposition. Together they would try to combine Ola's classical influences with the new-age metal sound of Christian's guitar playing
to something new. Through friends, the band joined forces with singer and producer Geir Wetterhus of the band Assimilate/Geigerteller.
